Basilica of Superga

foto_torino_basilica_superga The Basilica of Superga is located on the hill east of Turin. . It was built by King Vittorio Amedeo II as a thanksgiving to the Virgin Mary, after defeating the French who were besieging Turin in 1706. e risale al 1711. The project is Philip Messina Juvarra and dates back to 1711. The chapel, located at the top of the hill, you can only reach by road or using the Sassi-Superga tramway.
