Carmarthen Castle

castle Built in the thirteenth century by Manfredo II Marquis of Saluzzo, in part by the Spanish destroyed and rebuilt by the French in the mid-500, 1700 to 1863 was used as a convent by the Philippine Fathers.

Synagogue

423px-Sinagoga_di_Carmagnola_2 The Synagogue of Carmel is what remains of the ghetto: a cluster housing minute, separated from the texture of squares, churches, streets and arcades of the city.

The Synagogue has retained its original characteristics unchanged eighteenth century, and is recognized for the linear forms, for suggestive sequence of spaces, for the graceful elegance of the furnishings, such as the most valuable and meaningful in Piedmont. In rooms on the ground floor was built by the Jewish Community of Turin a permanent exhibition, curated by architects Franco Lattes and Paola Valentini.

During the visit, through various media of communication, the issues related to space take the form of synagogues. The path, as far as possible, through a timeline, from eighteenth-century prayer halls, remained in their original configuration, through the nineteenth century renovated synagogues, until the Israelite Temples of Turin and Vercelli. Two examples, Carmagnola and Turin, are an opportunity to read in more detail the transformation of architectural concepts, the role of urban and symbolic values ​​related to them, that characterize the synagogues before and after emancipation.

Civic Gallery of Modern Art

palazzo_lomellini One of the most famous (along with House Cavassa) civic buildings of Carmagnola. Keep lines of an ancient nobility and solemn, even if its different parts, including the main front on the square, have been already many years ago, changes and adaptations.

It 's very likely that the building, like other neighbors, was originally built in the mid-fifteenth century, as suggest, on the side facing away Lomellini, the late Gothic arches of the porch, in the middle of the towel' 700. Even the upper floors of the same wing are still legible signs of Gothic windows, mullioned windows, framed tiles, mostly now walled up, and windows were open oval.

The first news of this historic building, in relation to the family Lomellini that was perhaps originally from Genoa, dating from the early '600. In 1613 and again in 1687, in fact, that family members deliver their noble weapon. The entire building has exposed brick surfaces and the overall character is of great severity, tempered by elegant and bands in relief, also in brick and curved, horizontally to divide the facade into five fields.

When completed will once again host the Civic Gallery of Contemporary Art. In his living room, a noble and refined lines, some embellished with exquisite coffered ceilings, you will return to host exhibitions and art exhibitions as well as other cultural activities. On the side facing the courtyard, Palazzo Lomellini opened with a series of loggias, very airy, with round arches, Renaissance-style, set on columns or pillars. Now the lodges were closed with glazing.

Church of St. Augustine

Chiesa_di_santAgostino_Carmagnola Church built between 1406 and 1437, with an apse, the east side and the Gothic tower of connotation.
Inside, they have overlapping Baroque. The present facade, originally brick, is redrawn by the restoration in 1835.
